This is Tom’s R1200RT MU DOHC for sale. He’s had it about six months, but it’s not getting the use that it really needs (and he prefer riding my GS anyway). It’s all in great working order with the usual signs of wear that you’d expect from a vehicle of this age and mileage.
Since he’s had the bike, we’ve made several improvements and upgrades to it;
- Replaced the broken fuel level sensor with an after market one from BMW Motorworks (they claim it’s more reliable than the OEM one),
- Upgraded the front headlights to LEDs (so much better and the MOT tester was happy with them, but you can just revert back to normal bulbs if you wish),
- Replaced the left-hand cluster set so that the cruise control etc works reliably,
- 3d printed a small attachment for the SatNav holder so it’ll easily take a QuadLock (or similar) mount (original satnav mount is included, QuadLock is not included),
- New battery.
It has the usual mod-cons that you’d expect from this sort of bike;
- Cruise control,
- Heated grips,
- Heated seats (rider definitely works, haven’t tested the pillion but I was told it did),
- ESA,
- TPMS,
- Electronic adjustable screen,
- Full luggage with (non-BMW) liners.
Also included is the Zuma Garmin satnav with both bike and car mounts that it originally came with. We’ve never used them, so cannot say for sure whether it works.
We serviced less than 100 miles ago and that includes changing the final drive oil because we didn’t know when that had last been done (it was clean and looked good, so we needn’t have bothered.)
