This variant of these wonderful machines were released in 2000; about the time I was doing my bike test, and I’ve always wanted one!
As usual though, at the time I was too young to afford to buy or insure it and then then real life got in the way and it was never a sensible purchase. It still wasn’t a sensible purchase when I found a tatty one going for cheap(ish) and decided that it’d be rude to not pick it up there and then!
Finally, I’ve got my hands on my dream bike
Naturally, it needs some work – or it wouldn’t be a project bike.
At some point in it’s life, a previous owner has taken a hacksaw to one of the pillion pegs, so I’ll end up cutting the other one off also and turn it into a dedicated single-seater. Which means the pillion seat can be changed for a plastic cowling instead.

Something is squeaking, could be the chain, could be the brakes. Who knows? The plastic has some scratches on it and is cracked in several places, so that all needs looking at. No real obvious rust of other issues, but we shall have to have a proper look.
